NEW RENDER PAINTING
Render is porous and requires the correct treatment prior to painting.
Once we have completed the render process we can either apply a special base coat which will allow us to paint straight away, or the render can be left for 2 weeks (in dry conditions) to go off and then it can be painted. Also, you may wish to call in professional painters or make it a DIY project.
Sometimes it may be a better option to have us do the whole job for you and we are quite happy to quote for render and paint if you wish. But in any event, it is imperative that the correct products and processes are used. This is because the correct application from the render base preparation right through to the top coat of paint will mean a very long life for your rendered surface.
So, do what is necessary to ensure your painted render stands the test of time and still looks great years later.
Point of Interest
There are some that will say it is better to mix the paint with the render which will save time and money. Whilst that is possible to do, there is a high chance that the paint will vary in colour as each render batch is mixed. But this can be a good look especially if you are looking for more of a Mediterranean appeal.
Then of course, as one section or side of the house begins to fade with the sun or other elements over time, it will be very difficult to match the paint colour if you want to ‘touch it up’. Same applies for any repairs that need to be carried out in the future.
But in any event, there is not a huge difference in costs as the render will still need a clear top coat to complete the project.
